A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at St. Michael Church for Genevieve Barbara Glista, 87, of Canfield who passed away Friday, May 10, in St. Elizabeth Hospital. Genevieve was born December 4, 1931 in Poland Township, the daughter of John and Catherine (Maxgay) Lyda. She was a 1949 graduate of Springfield Local High School. Genevieve worked for Fisher Fazio Foods and Giant Eagle for many years. She also worked along side her husband Joseph on their family farm in Canfield. She was a member of St. Michael Church and was a 4H advisor for 11 years. Genevieve enjoyed word search puzzles, Amish books, and playing board games. Her husband Joseph S. Glista, whom she married August 5, 1950, passed away February 28, 2004. Genevieve leaves seven children Lenora Glista, Ronald (Denise) Glista, Martin (Trina) Glista, Rosemarie (David) Kochert, Patricia (Alvin) Flick and Chester (Rina) Glista all of Canfield, and Joseph Glista Jr. of Columbiana, one daughter-in-law, Velma Glista of Canfield 22 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, as well as one sister Cecelia Day of Poland. Besides her parents and her husband Genevieve was preceded in death by one son Leonard Glista, one granddaughter, Angela, four brothers, Frank, Ted, Ed, and George, and two sisters, Sophie, and Valeria. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 PM Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel, and again 9 to 10 AM Wednesday at St. Michaels Church where the mass will begin at 10 AM.
