Georg Hansel

Services will be held on Friday March 8, at 7:00 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Georg Hansel of 168 S. Roanoke Austintown who died Wednesday at North Side Medical Center. Mr. Hansel was born October 3, 1931 in Transylvania, Ukraine, coming here in 1952, the son of Katharina Fuhrmam. Mr. Hansel was a machine operator for United Foundries from 1960 to his retirement in 1997. He attend Christian Life Center Church in Canfield, and enjoyed southern gospel music. He participated as a D.J. on amateur radio, most recently WANR based in Warren. Mr. Hansel served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He is is survived by his wife Georgia (Steffey) Hansel whom he married on July 12, 1969, a daughter Deborah Woodward and son Erik Hansel, both of Austintown, a sister and two brothers all in Europe. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. Private burial will be held on Saturday morning.
