George Anthony Cataline

George Anthony Cataline, 73, of Canfield passed away at his home on February 8, 2024. George was born

April 26, 1950, in Youngstown, the son of the late Raymond and Philomena (Tedesco) Cataline, and was a

lifelong area resident. 

He graduated from Chaney High School in 1968 and attended Youngstown State

University. George was employed at General Motors Lordstown for 28 years, retiring in 1999. He was an

avid New York Yankees fan and loved traveling, reading and studying history. 

George was a husband, father, grandfather and he leaves Colleen (O’Brien) Cataline, whom he was married for 

52 years; two daughters, Jennifer (Eric) Walker of Canfield, and Cheryl (Gary) Lewis of Lake Wiley, SC; and a son, 

James (Jenna) Cataline of Tampa, FL. George was also a beloved “Papa” to nine grandchildren, Benjamin, Owen

and Zachary Walker; Ryan, Andrew and Matthew George; Evan Lewis; and Addison and Elaina Cataline.

He had five siblings and was especially close to his brother Richard (Marie) Cataline of Austintown and

also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24th at 11:30 a.m. at Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel, 

to celebrate George’s life. Friends may call for an hour before the funeral home service.
