George T. Chrismas, 101 of Victoria House, Austintown, formerly of Canfield passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, February 16, 2024. George was born January 17, 1923 in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late Alfred G. and Beatrice (White) Chrismas. He came to this area as a young child, growing up on the Westside and graduating from Chaney High School in 1941.
George worked as a machinist during World War II for Metal Carbides and then was a mechanic for Donnell Ford for 23 years. In 1971 he became the Senior Auto Mechanic Instructor at MCTC until 1988 when he retired. George was a motorcycle enthusiast, riding motorcycles until the age of 90.
He also loved all forms of auto racing, especially sports cars, IndyCar, and Formula One. After his retirement, George took up woodworking, making beautiful furniture.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, the former, M. Arlene (Miller) whom he married November 27, 1943, passed away August 30, 1999 and his second wife, Geraldine (Newman) whom he married November 1, 2000, passed away, August 24, 2016. He leaves his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Elaine (Mandoline) Chrismas of Genoa and an extended family of sons and daughters of close friends.

Friends may call on Thursday, February 22nd at Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m., followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. The family has requested no flowers due to allergies.
The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame, 13515 Yarmouth Dr., Pickerington, OH 43147.
