George J. Reho, 93, of Champion Township, died Wednesday morning, June 14, 2006 at 5:15 AM in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Born October 27, 1912 in Leechburg, PA he was the son of Andy and Julie Reho.
A graduate of Newton Falls High School, George was a veteran of the United States Army during WWII serving in the 37th division infantry. While serving in the military he received several medals and honors, among them are the WWII medal, the American Defense medal, Pacific Campaign, 5 bronze stars, 4 oak leaf clusters and several others. After the military, George worked as a delivery driver for 20 years for Allen’s Bakery, he then joined the Champion Fire Department where he worked as a fireman for 10 years until 1971 and retired in 1981 from Thomas Steel Strip Corp. where he worked for 10 years as an electrical assistant. George enjoyed reading, history, photography, traveling and museums. He was a member of the St. Williams Catholic Church in Champion.
George is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth L. Kriston Reho whom he married November 29, 1941. Together they have shared nearly 65 years of marriage and three children. He leaves behind his wife, three children, Mrs. Karen (Don) Rose of Warren, Ms. Imogene Reho of Champion Twp., Mr. Martin G. (Beth) Reho of Lordstown, 1 grandchild, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Jacobs also of Lordstown. He was preceded in death by his parents and by three brothers Michael, Steve, and John Reho.
Rev. Michael Smar will conduct a funeral service, Friday, June 16, 2006 at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel at 1:00PM where friends and family may call for one hour prior to the funeral service from 12 Noon to 1PM. Burial will be held in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association at 1815 East Market Street Suite 301 Akron, OH 44313 or to the local Veteran’s Association.
