George John DeAngel, Jr., age 70, of Columbiana, formerly of Berlin Center, died Saturday morning, April 1st surrounded by his family. John was born June 2, 1946 in Youngstown to the late George J. and Mary Lou (Adriano) DeAngel. He was a 1964 graduate of Western-Reserve High School. He was a proud Veteran serving in the U.S. Marine corps. He drove school bus for Western-Reserve for many years. John was a Conductor for Conrail for 36 years before retiring in 2000. He was a member of the American Legion Sebring Post 76, the Mahoning Valley Corvette Club. He was an avid golfer, and played in the Bob Roth Monday Golf League. He enjoyed watching Jeopardy, and will be fondly remembered as a "family man". He was the most generous and loving man, he was the dad that many could only wish for. He never missed a sporting event or activity for his kids and grandkids, he was their number one fan in life! Not a day went by that he didn't express his love to his family. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lenora "Lee" DeAngel, whom he married October 3, 1970; his daughter Shelly (Ryan) Tessean, and son Mike (Sarah) DeAngel; grandchildren Brooke, Zack, Amayah, Aubrey, and Adrianne. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8pm Thursday and 12-1pm Friday at the Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel, where the funeral service will be conducted at 1PM by Pastor Michael Smith. Interment in Berlin Center West Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Sebring Post 76.
