George Nemitz, Jr.

George E. Nemitz, Jr., 68, passed away on August 11, 2017 at Louis Stokes Veterans Administration Hospital in Cleveland. George was born on September 12, 1948 in Ashtabula to the late George Nemitz, Sr & Wilma (Mickey Hall) Walker. He was formerly married to Carol Jean Meade of Lordstown, Oh; she survives. George proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine during the Vietnam War. He spent his career working for Republic Steel and was still currently working. Visitation for George will be held on Sunday August 20th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. with military honors being rendered at 2:00 p.m. at Lane Funeral Homes; Cortland location. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday August 22nd at 1:00 p.m. at Ohio Western-Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH. George is survived by his daughter Carrie Nemitz, his mother Wilma (Mickey )Walker along with 3 brothers, 3 sisters and dozens of nieces and nephews . He was preceded in death by his infant son George E. Nemitz III and his father.
