George William Abrigg

Funeral services will be held at 7 PM Friday at the Lane Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel for George William Abrigg Jr., 87 of Norfolk, VA., formerly of Canfield and the Youngstown area. George was born November 21, 1930 in Canton, Ohio the son of George William Sr. and Aletha (Eversole) Abrigg. He was a 1949 graduate of The Rayen School, attended Kent State University from 1949 to 1950, and graduated from Youngstown State University. George was an Army Veteran serving his country from August 1959 to July 1961. He worked in the Labor Relations Department as an Industrial Relations Employment Representative for LTV Steel in Youngstown until his retirement in 1985. George was a member of Damascas Friends Church. George leaves three daughters, Deborah Krebsbach, Diane (Edward III) Estes, Dorinda Abrigg, one son Byron (Jody) Abrigg, 14 grandchildren, Hanna-Grace Abrigg, Marie (Jeff) Brinegar, Gregory (Angela) Arseneault, David (Bridget) Arseneault, Daniel Krebsbach, Edward (Meredith) Estes IV, Virginia (Andrew) Stroud, Jo-Ann, Elizabeth, and Jonathan Estes, Byron, Madeleine, Liam, and Christian Abrigg, as well as 7 great grandchildren, a brother, Larry (Vivian) Abrigg, and a sister Janice Lane. George was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, the former, Jo-Ann King, whom he married December 27,1955, she passed away November 24, 1978. George is also preceded in death by his second wife the former Jere Wright , whom he married September 28, 1981, she passed away April 15, 2004. He is also preceded in death by a brother John Abrigg and a sister Verla Bowser. Friends may call form 5 to 7 PM Friday January 12, 2018 at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel where service will be held at 7 PM.
