Gerald "Gary" Dodrill

Gerald "Gary" Dodrill, 61, passed away after a year long battle with cancer. Gary was born on August 11, 1957 in Warren to Jennings & Onalea Dodrill. He was a lifelong resident of the area. On January 23, 1988, Gary was united in marriage to the former Tracey Goldner who survives. He spent his career as a rehab counselor for Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities Bureau of Services for Visually Impaired. Retiring after his illness forced him to discontinue working. When he wasnt working, Gary was active in the Niles Lions Club, hunting and fishing, as well as cooking for his family. Most importantly, Gary was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Besides his wife of 30 years, Tracey, Gary is survived by his children Ian (Jamie Muller) Dodrill, Megan (Andrew) Pirigyi and Sean Dodrill; his grandchildren Layla & Eli Pirigyi; his sister Gena Andersen; his brothers Eugene (Linda) Dodrill and Bob Woodward and his stepmother Edith Slanina as well as many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service for Gary will be held on Sunday December 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church; 1301 North Road SE, Niles. Memorial donations may be directed to Hospice of the Valley in Garys memory.
