Glendora Martin, 97, passed away Thursday, August 8th, 2024, in Warren.
Glendora was born on August 7th, 1927, in Warren. She was the daughter of Frederic and Ina Collins.
She was a 1946 graduate of Howland High School and attended Youngstown College.
Glendora married James Martin in 1949, and they became the parents of six children. She worked at the Warren Public Library, Turner Jr. High School in the World of Work program, and at Trumbull Memorial Hospital as secretary in the security department.
Glen (as she liked to be known) and her husband Jim retired and moved to Danville, Kentucky in 1989 and lived there for 25 years. In Danville, she was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church. In 2014 they moved to Lake Mohawk in Malvern, Ohio. Glen moved to Warren last December.
She is survived by her children Margaret Hill of Cincinnati OH, Betsy (Tom) Williams of Malvern, OH, Christopher (Nancy) of Galena, OH, and Timothy (Amy) of Warren. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Jennifer, Carrie, Katie, Joshua, Jenna, Andrew, Emily, and Molly, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Glen was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Martin, a daughter Kathleen Martin, a son David Martin, and a sister Velissa Crossley.
A memorial service will be held on Friday August 16, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Warren. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am and the service will begin at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Glendora’s name to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
