Gloria F. Clark Welch, 88, of Warren passed away peacefully at 1:45 AM Friday July 2, 2010 at her home following a brief battle with lung cancer. She was born May 30, 1922 in Warren the daughter of Claude and Isabel (Pardee) Shafer. A lifetime Warren resident,” Mickey” as she was known, was a 1941 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and always attended her reunion luncheons. She was employed by Packard Electric, Denman Tire Corp. and lastly by Warren General Hospital. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends and was a member of the “Elevenettes” card club since high school. She loved going to casinos, playing bingo, and traveling with her husband Lloyd in their Model A Ford with the Model A car club. Gloria was a life long member of the Second Christian Church of Warren and a former member of Warren Emblem Club #397. Her 1st husband George E. Clark whom she married Dec. 10, 1949 preceded her in death Feb. 26, 1965. Her second Husband Lloyd F. Welch whom she married July 20, 1985 preceded her in death May 29, 1998. She also was preceded by 3 sisters; twins Edythe Bonner, and Evelyn Shafer, Audrey Boger , and a brother Claude Shafer. She will be sadly missed by a son Rick G. (Suzanne) Clark of Howland, step-son Donald F.(Susan) Welch of Norton, OH, and 3 grandsons Kyle (Shari) Clark of Greenville, SC, Rick M. Clark of Santa Monica, CA, and Nathan Welch of Manassas, VA. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and her beloved canine companion “Max”. There will be a private funeral service Saturday at Roberts-Clark Chapel. The Rev. Gene Eason will officiate. Interment will be in Crown Hill Burial Park. The family suggests material contributions be made to the Trumbull County Animal Welfare League 545 Brunstetter Rd. Warren, OH 44481.
