Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 8, at 11:00 AM for Harold Eugene Roberts of Canfield who passed away early Friday morning at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. Mr. Roberts was born June 20, 1918 in Youngstown, the son of Lawrence E. and Bessie (Forney) Roberts and was a Structural Iron Worker for Local #207 where he served as an officer of the union. He was also the co-founder of the Local#207 retirees club. A 1936 graduate of the Rayen School, Harold served his country in the Navy during WWII. Harold enjoyed gardening, golfing and fishing as well as being an avid bridge player and was a member of the Canfield Duplicate Bridge Club. Mr. Roberts was a lover of all animals. Harold leaves his wife the former Elizabeth Brown whom he married April 27, 1937 and two children: Lawrence Eugene Roberts of Pittsburgh, and Patricia DeVee Patrone of Canfield. He also leaves two sisters and a brother: Viola King of Austintown, Donna Neff of Campbell, and Lawrence Roberts. He also leaves five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Roberts was predeceased by his parents and a sister Doris Stevens. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s closest animal shelter in Harold’s name
