Harold James Varney

Austintown- Harold James Varney passed away Monday morning November 7, 2022. Harold was born March 18, 1948, to Harold and Ethel (Selken) Varney in Grants Pass, Oregon coming to this area as a child. He graduated from Western Reserve High School in Berlin Center in 1967. After graduation Harold enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam War. Harold always dreamed of being a truck driver and successfully graduated from Truck Driving School. He was the first official volunteer at Lake Milton State Park. He loved to fish, play baseball, and especially loved trains of any kind and model railroading. Harold leaves his mother Ethel and sister Carol both of Austintown. He was preceded in death by his father Harold and sister Julie. His family would like to give special thanks to Marcie and Mrs. Kennedy of Comfort Keepers who both went above and beyond to help care for Harold these last few years.
