Harry Dean Hildenbrand, 89, of Cortland, Ohio, formerly of North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, March 13 at Hospice of the Valley, Poland, OH, after a brief illness. He was born November 11, 1925 in Madison, PA, son of the late Harry C. and Martha Jellison Hildenbrand. Harry served in the U. S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He then earned an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh, attending in the evenings, while working for Westinghouse. He retired from Westinghouse with 40 years of service, working at various locations in East Pittsburgh, R&D Center and Sharon Transformer. Harry was a member of Howland United Methodist Church of Warren, Ohio, where he served on several committees. He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Nancy Rain Hildenbrand, and daughters Ellen Hildenbrand (N. Huntingdon, PA) and Beth (Jose) Colon (Girard, OH) and brothers Robert (Nancy) Hildenbrand (Greensburg, PA) and Charles (Nancy) Hildenbrand (Madison, PA), and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his children Amy Hildenbrand (Cortland, OH) and Michael Hildenbrand (Pittsburgh, PA) and brothers William Hildenbrand, John Hildenbrand, and Leslie Hildenbrand. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 11 at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. Burial will be private.
