Harry Hopes

Lake Milton- Funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel for Harry Hopes age 76 of 18066 Mahoning Ave., Lake Milton who died early Sat. morning at Briarfield at Ashley Pl. Harry was born Aug. 15, 1926 in Youngstown and was the son of Earl and Mary (Prelog) Hopes Swartz. He had owned and operated Apollo Beach Realty in Florida. He had served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was active member in the American Legion Post in Lake Milton and Apollo Beach and also a member of the V.F.W. in Apollo Beach. Harry was also an avid golfer. Harry leaves his wife Lillian (Giltinan) whom he married July 1, 1988, a daughter Kathleen (James) Lapushansky of Lake Milton, a son Charles L. (Holly) Hopes of Florida, three sisters, Shirley Wilson of Youngstown, Doris Rock of Struthers, Thelma Loudin of Granger, IN a brother Fred Swartz of New Middletown, four grandchildren, Todd Anguish, Angela Sadler, Ryan Hopes and Andrea Hopes. He was preceded in death by a sister Donna M. Swartz. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home on Tuesday. Family requests that material contributions take the form of donations to American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Foundation.
