LORDSTOWN-There will be Services at 12 p.m. Saturday at Lane Family Funeral Homes-Austintown Chapel for Harvey . Hood, 80, who passed away early Wednesday morning at the Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness. Harvey was born October 9, 1938 in Lordstown, a son of Carl and Marion Mansell Hood. He was a self-employed residential and commercial builder in the area for many years. Harvey served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. He was of the Christian Faith. Harvey was a pilot for 50 years and a member of the A.O.P.A. and the E.A.A. He was also a past member of the Lordstown Lions Club. Harvey taught Scuba Diving and was a Bee Keeper. He enjoyed wood working and photography. Harveys first wife, Barbara, whom he married in 1962, died in 2003. He is survived by his second wife, the former Kathy M. Kistler, whom he married December 27, 2008; his step-son, Douglas (Catherine) Kelley of Seattle, WA; his brother, Roger (Judy) Hood of Newton Falls; his sister, Carol (Jim) Nicholas of Cortland; his sister-in-law, Laniece Hood of Brunswick; 7 nieces; 2 nephews and many gr. nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and first wife, Harvey was preceded in death by his brother, Dale Hood and his niece, Diane Overton. Friends may call from 10-11:45 a.m. on Saturday prior to the Service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Harveys name may be given to Angels for Animals, 4750 South Range Rd., Canfield, OH 44406.
