Helen E. Barbour

Helen E. (Kardas) Barbour went to be with Jesus on Sunday, September 3, 2017. Born April 8, 1928 in Youngstown; she was the daughter of Michael and Mary (Tomaszewski) Kardas. Helen was a 1948 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Curtis E. Barbour; children, John C. (Cindy) Barbour and Karen (Marty) Nypaver; grandchildren: Michael (Casey), Jonathan (Allie), and Eric (Alex) Barbour, Kristen (David) Fodor, Amy (Corey) Pabst, and Matthew Nypaver; great-grandchildren: Blake, Audrey, Evan, Liam, Vincent, Ronan, Carly, Annie, Chloe, and Helena. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Michael; and her sisters: Anne, Stella, and Catherine Kardas, and Jean Howell. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00AM on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4490 Norquest Blvd, Austintown; friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
