Helen Gross Kenreigh, 101
Helen Gross Kenreigh, 101, of Boardman died Monday, May 20th, at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Boardman. Helen was born July 30, 1917, in Canfield to the late Alden and Hildegard (Finnegan) Gross. She married her husband, Ray M. Kenreigh on February 29, 1940, who passed away in February of 1996.
As a lifelong area resident, Mrs. Kenreigh graduated from Canfield High School in 1935, attended Youngstown College from 1935 -1936, and graduated in 1937 from Salem Business College. She worked as an accountant in Salem for Frank Harris Garage and W. H. Kinsley and Son. From 1951 until retiring in 2003, she was a florist and a co-owner of the family business, Endres Gross Flowers and Gifts, located in Canfield and in Salem.
Mrs. Kenreigh was also an active member in the community. She was a Girl Scout leader from 1936 -1942 and was a member of Canfield Presbyterian Church, the Quota Club of Salem, the Kiwana Queens of Canfield, the Argus Lodge Widower’s Group, the Order of the Amaranth, the Beta Sigma Phi, and the Shady Park Garden Club of Canfield.
She leaves her daughter, Beth (Joseph) Timko of Salem, her son, Edgar Kenreigh, her four grandchildren, Bradley Timko, Tara Timko, Noah (Nicole) Kenreigh, and Christopher Kenreigh, and her two great-grandchildren, Ava and Emma Timko. In addition to her parents and her husband, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Gross and Alden Gross, Jr., and her grandson, Jonathan Timko.
At Mrs. Kenreigh’s request, her body was donated to the Cleveland Clinic Donor Program for the advancement of science. Private arrangements were entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Homes, Anstrom Chapel, Boardman.
