Niles - Helen J. Hamilton, 97, passed away Tuesday morning April 16, 2019 at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. Helen was born on September 10, 1921 in Mannington, WV, a daughter of the late William and Rose (Miller) Asher. She worked at Packard Electric as an Inspector for 28 years until she retired in 1986. She was a member of Bazetta Christian Church, Eastern Star #518 in Hartford, OH, International Union of Electrical Workers, and Retiree of the Union. She also loved golfing, bowling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. Helen will be deeply missed by her children, Wayman (Faye) Phillips and Barbara Gleason; step children, Dennis (Sandy) OMalley and Judith OMalley; grandchildren, Deborah Gleason, Jennifer Gleason, Jeffery Phillips, Wendy Phillips-Enting, Glen (Gini) Phillips, and Douglas (Honeyvee) Dean; and 11 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, John R. Phillips Sr., Edward F. OMalley, and Robert P. "Ham" Hamilton; her son John R. Phillips Jr.; daughter Rose Leeworthy; sisters, Naomi Toothman, Bonnie Efaw, Geneva "Loraine" Timko; and brothers, John, Okey, Leo, Ottis, Odgar, and Eugene Asher. Friends and family may visit from 10-11:30AM on Saturday April 20, 2019 at Lane Family Funeral Homes - Madasz Chapel in Brookfield, with services following at 11:30AM. Burial will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bazetta Christian Church or Shepherd of the Valley of Howland.
