Helen Jane Lavigna

Helen Jane Lavigna, 95, of Warren died at 7:10 am Sunday at Windsor House of Champion. She was born Mar.6, 1912 in Kingmont, WV the daughter of Henry and Ada Mae (Richards) Drake. A Warren area resident since 1951 coming from West Virginia, she was formerly employed by the United Telephone Co., Trumbull Memorial Hospital, and as an executive housekeeper at Warren General Hospital retiring in 1974. Helen was a member of the Second Christian Church of Warren where she belonged to the Women’s Christian Fellowship. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed cooking and crocheting. Her husband Frank Lavigna whom she married May 18, 1940 preceded her in death December 16, 2002. She is survived by a daughter Theresa (Edward) Perine of Southington, 2 sons Franklin Lavigna Sr. of Warren, Leroy (Virginia) Yates of Windham, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother Henry Dale Drake of Kingmont, WV and 3 sisters Doris Shaffer, Ada Riggs, and Beulah Hamrick all of Fairmont, WV. She was preceded in death by a brother Richard Drake and a sister Junella Simmons. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel where friends will be received for 1 hour prior to the service. The Rev. Gene Eason will officiate.
