Herbert A. Mincher, 94 Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 11:00 am at Jubilee Christian Fellowship, 5110 S. Canfield-Niles Rd., Canfield with Pastor Jeffrey H Mincher officiating for Herbert A Mincher, 94, who passed away at St Elizabeth Hospital following a brief illness. Herbert, affectionately known as "Handsome Herb", was born 2/3/24, in Youngstown to parents Herbert A and Sarah Mincher. He spent a lifetime working in the housing industry in the Mahoning Valley. In 1956 he founded the drafting and design business of H.A. Mincher & Associates and designed over 5000 houses. His passion for his career was evidenced daily as he continued drawing houses until age 92. Herb spent his lifetime caring for his loved ones-his wife, children and grandchildren. The two most important things in his life were his family and his church. He was President of Kirkmere Elementary School PTA, Little League umpire, Cub Master, active with Boardman Band and Orchestra Parents, Board member of Youngstown Christian School, and Vice President for Jubilee Christian Fellowship for more than 20 years. His artistic talents were demonstrated in the scenery at his childrens school productions, many church plays, decorations for church parties, parade floats, and most recently the original design of the new Jubilee Christian Fellowship building in Canfield. Herb leaves the love of his life, his wife, the former Grace M Wright, whom he married in 1951. He also leaves 3 children, Melinda M Davies of Austintown, Karen L Mincher of Boardman and Pastor Jeffrey H Mincher also of Boardman, and daughter-in-law Diana L Mincher of Austin, TX; 3 grandchildren Joshua (Crystal) Mincher, Sarah (Christopher) Vaughn, Rachel (Zach) Silver, and 4 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emma and Wyatt Mincher and Penelope Vaughn. Besides his parents, Herb was preceded in death by a son, Douglas J Mincher, a sister Mary Lou Morris and brothers Fred and Joe Mincher. Calling hours will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 10, 2018 , at the Lane Funeral Home in Canfield. Calling hours will also be 1 hour before services on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Jubilee Christian Fellowship. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jubilee Christian Fellowship, Canfield, Ohio.
