Homer W. Jones

Warren - Homer W. Jones, 85, passed away Saturday morning, August 25, 2018 at Continuing Healthcare of Niles. Homer was born on May 13, 1933 in Blairsville, PA a son of the late James and Nora (Williams) Jones. He was a 1951 graduate of Blairsville High School and worked as an electrician. In his free time he enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, woodworking, and traveling back to Pennsylvania. Homer will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Glennis Jones, whom he married on June 30, 1956; his children, Nora (Tom) Capito, Faye (Ken) Renato, and Jackie (Duane) Pluche; grandchildren, Carrie (Ernie) Lipscomb, Rachel (Rob) Smith, Joseph Sosnowski, Katie (Jake) Rose, Josh Sosnowski, Karol Sosnowski, Jim Pluche, Robert (Elisabeth) Pluche, and Dan (Meghann) Pluche; and 13 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Paul, Joseph, Earl, Carl, Clinton, Wendell, David, and Chester Jones; and his sisters, Edna Stemmerich, Mildred Risinger, Anna Marie Keister, Ruth Jones, Gladys Jones, Laura Mae Yarnell, and Carrie Watson. Family and friends may view from 6-8:00PM on Tuesday August 28, 2018 at Lane Family Funeral Homes in Niles, OH and from 1-2:00PM on Wednesday August 29, 2018 at Shoemaker Funeral Home in Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday August 29, 2018 at Shoemaker Funeral Home with a burial following at Blairsville Cemetery.
