There will be services at the Lane Anstrom Chapel of Boardman for Howard A. Seeds of North Lima, formerly of Boardman, who passed away May 3 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown. Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 8 from 1:00 -3:00 pm with a service immediately following. Mr. Seeds was born Sept. 23, 1932 in Grove City, Ohio, the son of George A. Seeds and Frances Seeds (Gills). He was a 1950 graduate of Youngstown South High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. Mr. Seeds was in the welding supply business for forty six years and with his brother, George, were owners of Findley Welding Supply, Inc. until they sold the business in 1996. He was a member of Western Reserve Lodge #21 F. & A. M. for over 50 years. He was a past president of Mahoning Valley Camp Fire as well as a member and elder of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church. He also belonged to the Rotary Club of Youngstown, the Four-Square Club, and Couples Club. Mr. Seeds and his wife, Sally, enjoyed spending winters in Siesta Key, Fl. Many wonderful, memories were created there with his family. Just after his deep love for his family, was his love for The Ohio State University. He was a member of the President's Club and the Buckeye Club. As a loyal supporter of Ohio State football, he attended every home football game since 1974. He endowed two scholarships to Ohio State, one academic and one football scholarship. He is survived by his wife, the former Sally Ann Schuman whom he married on Jan. 24, 1953, two children, Deborah Cerepak of Mentor, Ohio and Kenneth Seeds of Boardman, Ohio, two grandchildren, Carly Graves (Patrick) and Casey Cerepak, and three great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and step father, Frank B. Findley, a brother, George A. Seeds, two sisters, Janet Pitzer, Judy Kosko, and his daughter Kathy L. Seeds. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown for the special care they gave Howard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Salvation Army, PO Box 4327, Youngstown, Ohio 44515.
