Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at the Canfield Presbyterian Church for Imogene Glenda “Penny” Burns of Canfield who passed away on Saturday after a short illness. Mrs. Burns was born August 25, 1915 in Clarkton, Missouri the daughter of Thomas H. and Lydia M. (Meadows) Hildebrand. Penny lived most of her life in Flint Michigan before moving to Canfield with her husband in 1987. Penny worked for the Genesee County Board of Elections in Michigan and was a Girl and Boy Scout Leader. She also volunteered as a Nurses Aid, and was a Deaconess at the Community Presbyterian Church in Flint She enjoyed bowling, golfing, and square dancing, and particularly enjoyed vacationing at the family home on the Au Sable River in Michigan. Mrs. Burns leaves two children: William Burns of Canfield, and Carol Blackwell of Great Falls, VA. She also leaves six grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Penny was preceded in death by her husband Jack whom she married in 1935 and passed away in 1997. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
