Iona Adams

Iona Adams, age 75 of North Jackson passed away on December 8, 2013 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital Medical Center Main Campus Emergency. Iona was born April 29, 1938 to Samuel and Mary (McGary) Bert in Washington Pa. Iona married her childhood sweetheart Ronald Adams on May 10, 1954 sharing 58 years of marriage. Together they had five wonderful children. Iona was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always put her family first in her life and leaves them with memories to fill many lifetimes. She never missed watching her family playing sports. The umpires and officials definitely knew her voice. She would let them know when they made mistakes. Iona made sure her family knew the true meaning of family, and to always put family first. She was adamant on taking them on trips, going on several vacations. Her children swear it was Iona who willed the Pirates to their first winning season in twenty years. In addition she was faithful to her Steelers, Penguins, and of course Duke University. She also loved her Ohio State University Buckeyes. Iona leaves to cherish her memory, her children, daughters; Melody (Daniel) Corbett of North Jackson, Terry (James) Infante of North Jackson, and Cindy (Patrick) Pesa of Boca Raton Fl. son; Ronald "Bud" ( Missy) Adams Jr. of North Jackson. Grandchildren; Jake (Ann) Corbett, Jennifer Corbett and fianc Brent Graham, Billy Corbett and fianc Emily Cooke, Hilary (Dave) Karabin, Kelly (Anthony) Ciavarella, Shannon (Scott) Bellino, Samantha (Scott) Domes, Bruce Montgomery Jr, Jacki Adams, Jillian (Kevin) Koenig, Jaemi (Jesse) Stamm. Great-grandchildren; Nicolas Corbett, Caitlyn Corbett, Allie Corbett, Lacie Corbett, Anthony Ciavarella, Olivia Ciavarella, Sofia Bellino, Roman Bellino, Reese Domes, Everett Domes, sister; Carol Burgess of Washington, Pa. Iona was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Carla Montgomery, and sister, Leila Camps. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 5-8pm at the Lane Family Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. Funeral Service is scheduled for Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 11:00am at the funeral home.
