Isabelle A. Miller

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Isabelle A. Miller of Boardman who passed away suddenly on Tuesday at Forum Northside Hospital. Mrs. Miller was born March 5, 1912 in Brackenridge, PA the daughter of John and Margaret Mae (Ramsey) Walters. She was the first female band leader in 1930 and was the pianist for the band. She combined her music teaching studio with her husband’s in 1946 where they taught piano and voice lessons. She was a Sunday school teacher where her husband played piano at Kathryn Kuhlman Ministries which later became David Verzilli Ministries and then became known as Emmanuel Ministries in Canfield. Mr. and Mrs. Miller spent their lives always praising God by helping others. Mrs. Miller is survived by two children: James Blaine Miller Jr. of Silver Springs, MD and Marthe Mae Miller of Boardman, OH. She also leaves a sister Mary Sargeant-Spall of Washington, PA., as well as two grandsons: Brent Edward Miller and Brian Everett Miller both of Silver Springs, MD. Isabelle was preceded in death by her husband James Blaine Miller Sr. whom she married February 14, 1946 and died as the result of an automobile accident November 3, 1994. A brother: James Walters, and two sisters: Lavina Bonner and Regina Walters are also deceased. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Friday, and one hour prior to the services on Saturday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the James and Isabelle Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund by calling The Sing and Strings Studio at (330) 758-8157. All donations will be sent to the children of public service and rescue members who lost parents at the World Trade Center for music lessons
