DIAMOND-Jack E. Lindner Sr., 79, of Diamond, passed away at 7:20 AM Sunday, February 11, 2007 in Hospice House in Poland. Jack was born January 1, 1928 in Youngstown and was the only son of the late Edward J. and Phyllis Ida (Mountford) Lindner. Jack retired from Youngstown Sheet & Tube where he worked for 30 years as a craneman. Jack enlisted into the Merchant Marines and then enlisted into the United States Army and served in World War II. Jack was an active member of the Niles Scope, where he enjoyed line and square dancing. He was a member of the American Legion of Lake Milton and was an avid boater; owning his own boat all of his adult life. Jack also enjoyed traveling to Florida and Canada. Jack was married on November 4, 1961 to the former Gloria J. Walp; she preceded him in death on May 28, 2003. Jack is survived by his father-in-law Charles Walp of North Lima; his children Daniel (Deborah) of North Canton, Linda (Frank) Mackovine of Austintown, Glenna (Robert) Ress of New Middletown, Joyce (Michael) Glieden of Mesquite, NV, Randy Williams of Mineral Ridge, Kathy (Mike) Bardo of Onondaga, MI, Jack Jr. of Diamond; a sister Phyllis (Dale) Best of Andover; sixteen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Besides his parents, and his wife, Jack was preceded in death by a granddaughter. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at 5PM in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, where family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice House 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, Ohio 44512.
