Jack R. Maffitt

Jack R. Maffitt, age 92, of Cortland passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born in Warren on November 1, 1931, to the late Wayne C. and Violet Biddle Maffitt. 

He was a steelworker for Copperweld Steel for 37 years until his retirement in 1987. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1953-1954. He was a member of the VFW Post 1090 and the DS Club. He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, restoring antique cars, and being outdoors in the beautiful spring weather. 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra J. Maffitt and his parents.

He is survived by his children, Jack A. Maffitt and Deborah M. Youll.

Family and friends may visit from 6:00-7:00PM on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Lane Family Funeral Homes Shafer Winans Chapel located at 164 N. High Street in Cortland with services to follow at 7:00PM

The burial will take place at a later date at Kerr Cemetery in Weathersfield Township.
