James 'Goss' Edward' Gossler, of 1 Wyn Dr., Brookfield, and a lifetime resident of the Sharon area, left this earth on Monday, April 26, 2004, in his home following a heroic battle against lung cancer. His beloved wife, the former Joan Harris, whome he married February 28, 1991, was at his bedside. Born March 9, 1941 in Sharon PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Theresa (Roberts) Gossler, and the son-in-law of the late Wilfred and Ada Harris. Jim graduated from Sharon Hish School in 1959. He the received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Youngstown State University on September 4, 1971. Jim was formerly employed by Sharon Chrysler until his illness. He also had a long career with National Castings and had been Hard Line Sales Manager for J C Penney, in Hermitage, PA. A devoted husband, Jim enjoyed the Ocean, canoeing, and tending his roses. He loved Life very much and enjoyed the smallest things in nature; the song of a bird, the smell of the flowers, and the roar of the ocean. Most of all, he enjoyed people. He lived life to the fullest. He loved all sports. Hw was an accomplished golfer and liked to bowl. He looked forward to vacations at the ocean and enjoyed dining at Calabash, NC, where he loved his sweet tea, hushpuppies and shrimp. Surviving are his beloved wife, Joan; his 4 children, Diana Hafely, James Gossler, Karen Ahearn, and Molly Brockhoff; his 6 grandchilden, Jahred and Zak Hafely, Ashlyn and Emily Ahearn, and Jonathon and Jacob Brockhoff; his sister, Suzi Alter; his 3 step-children, Donald A. Douglas, Daphne L. Parrish, and Daniel Douglas; and his 5 step-grandchildren, Dustin, Caleb, and Shelby Douglass, and Chuckie Wilcox and Alex Parrish. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield, with Pastor Bruce Bennett, officiating. Calling hours will be from 407 PM Thursday at Madasz. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hospice of Sharon.
