James "Jim" S. Raymond

James "Jim" S. Raymond, 76, of Austintown passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Briarfield Manor. Jim was born January 22, 1943 in Youngstown, the son of the late Seymour and Carolyn (Sweeney) Raymond. He was 1960 graduate of Austintown Fitch. Jim was a Project Coordinator, New Mall Construction for DeBartolo Corp. until 1991, as well as a Captain for the Austintown Volunteer Fire Department. Jim retired in 2003 as a Bus Driver for the Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Jim was a member of Austintown Community Church. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. Jim is survived by his daughters, Cheri (Keith) Griggs of Nevada and Shelley (Rocco) Crisci of Austintown; his brother Bill (Carol) Raymond of Florida; sister-in-law Marla (Duncan) Chisholm of Connecticut; his granddaughter Kaitlin Griggs and his niece and nephews. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Cheryl (Dammann) Raymond, whom he married November 11, 1971 and died December 24, 1990 and their infant child that passed away at birth. Friends may call from 1:00- 3:00 PM Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the funeral home immediately following calling hours. Jim will be laid to rest beside his wife at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
