YOUNGSTOWN-James M. Waldern, 79, passed away Friday morning February 8, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Mr. Waldern was born August 26, 1939, the son of Merrill R. and Patricia Atkinson Morris Waldern. Jim was in the maintenance department with Copperweld Steel for 31 years, retiring in 1995. He was a 1959 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. Jim was a member of Allen Lodge No. 276 F. & A.M., the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite-Valley of Youngstown, the Knights of Pythias No. 343, the Austintown Eagles-Aerie No. 3298 and the Crime Clinic of Greater Youngstown. Jim loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed traveling and working around the house, especially outdoors. He also enjoyed riding and racing motorcycles and working on cars. Jim is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Terpak, whom he married June 27, 2001; his children, Robin (Bob) Baldwin, Michael Waldern and Christine (Steve) Sigley all of Austintown; his sister, Deborah Machamer of Austintown; his grandchildren, Steven and Dylan Sigley of California, Devin Sigley of Austintown, Shanon (Ralph) Catone of Girard, Keith (Jenn) Gray of McDonald, Tyler (Alyssa) Gray of Austintown, Arron Baldwin of Austintown, Justin (Kayla) Waldern of Troy, NY and his great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Lyam, Kyley, Talia, Alyssa and Lincoln. According to Jims wishes, there are no calling hours. A private family celebration of Jims life will be held at a later date.
