Funeral services honoring the life of Sheriffs Deputy James P. Brown will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, April 6, at the Lane Funeral Homes Austintown Chapel. Jim passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the age of 52. He was born July 18, 1966 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio the son of Warren and Carol (Langdon) Brown. He was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, class of 1984. He enlisted in the US. Marine Corps where he was stationed as an Embassy Guard in both Greece and Africa. After his service time Jim continued his education and received his Law Enforcement Certification from the Western Reserve Police Academy. He was currently protecting our community as a Sheriffs Deputy with the Mahoning County Sheriffs Department and was most recently assigned as an investigator with the FBIs Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task Force. He had also been assigned to the Bike Patrol, the Correction Division, and the Court House while with the department. Because of his military background Jim was also instrumental in forming the Honor Guard at the Sheriffs Department. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fly fishing and bow hunting. He also loved working on his landscape at his home. Jim leaves his wife the former Stephanie Statti, whom he married April 8, 1995, their two sons Evan and Andrew all of Austintown, one brother, Randy (Robin) Brown of Suffolk, VA., and two sisters, Kelly Brown of Austintown and Sandy McIe of North Jackson. Jim was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Friday and again from Noon to 1 PM Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel where services will begin at 1 PM Saturday.
