James R Clarkson

Funeral services will be held 11 Am Wed. at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel for James R. Clarkson age 97 of Briarfield Manor, Formerly of New Rd. Austintown who died Sun morning at North Side Hospital. James was born Sept. 12, 1905 in Coalport, Pa. and was the son of John and Jennie (Cousin) Clarkson. He had formerly owned and operated Clarkson Realty and had headed up the H.U.D. office out of the Cleveland retiring in the 1970’s. He had taught school many years ago in Coalport, Pa., was a member of the Masonic Lodge, belonging to many of the Masonic orgainizations and had served in the Army in WWII. His wife, Mary Louise Grube whom he married July 7, 1942 died Feb. 27, 2000. He is survived by his daughter in law Rosemarie Mathers of Youngstown, two grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. James was also preceded in death by his son John Mathers, and a brother Curtis Clarkson. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
