She grew up on the South Side of Youngstown and graduated from South High School. She met and married the "love of her life", Henry C. Mason on June 1, 1941. Her life revolved around her family: husband, Hank, daughter Carroll, and son, "my Bill". Her dogs Maggie, Heidi, Pepper and Inky were special loves also. Jane was a dedicated member of the church, where she was a very active member in the Lydia Circle, as well as the Pastor/Parish Council. The annual church bazaars' were recipients of her knitted and crocheted items, along with many, many clever craft pieces and homemade jams, jellies and preserves. Her smile and constant positive attitude were special traits. At the nursing home Jane became known as Ms. Sunshine. Family vacations were special events: to Florida, to Billow Beach at Geneva and then to Long Beach, North Carolina. She loved the sun and all the time at water's edge. In later years, from Spring until Fall you would see Jane and Hank sitting out in their driveway on Joan Ave visiting with all the neighbors and friends who went by; either walking, by car, motorcycle, bicycle or wagon. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter-in-law, Dianna R.
