Janet L. Ohlinger

There will be a Memorial Service at 6 p.m. Friday at Emmanuel Community Church in Austintown for Janet L. Ohlinger, 78, who passed away Saturday afternoon at her residence. Janet was born Oct. 27, 1938 in Youngstown, a daughter of William and Harriett Wardle Maronde. Janet was a home-maker. She was a member of Emmanuel Community Church and its women's group. She was also a member of the Youngstown Women's Connection. Janet enjoyed Word Search books and sitting on her porch. She also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and listening to Christian music and reading her Bible. Janet's husband of 54 years, Harold W. Ohlinger, whom she married Oct. 18, 1958, died Jan. 20, 2012. Janet is survived by her children, Dawna Ohlinger of Austintown, John (Mary Torczon) Ohlinger of Wimberly, TX and Ellen (Charles) Kimble of Ellsworth; her brother-in-law, Dale Walker of Ellwood City, PA; her grandsons, Chad Kimble of Youngstown and Sean Ohlinger of Wimberly, TX; granddaughters, Kristin Gasaway of Austintown and Paige (Thomas) Peschong of Wimberly, TX and her gr. grandchildren, Rebekah and Dominic. Besides her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Walker, her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Ohlinger and her niece, Lottie Sue Walker. Friends may call from 5-6 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Janet's name may be given to Emmanuel Community Church, 6512 Kirk Rd.
