Strongsville- Janie M. Heathman, age 95, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at her residence, Shurmer Memory Care Assisted Living. Janie was born November 3, 1923 in Cornwall, England to the late Garnet and Mary (Trembath) Oates. Janie was a 1941 graduate of Harding High School. She briefly worked for Packard Electric in the offices before she started her family. She was a long-time member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. Janie will be remembered for her charming wit, and her devotion to her family. Besides her parents, Janie was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Heathman, whom she married May 19, 1956; and her son James G. Heathman, to whom she gave her loving devotion as a caregiver. Janie is survived by her daughter Linda (Jim) Garber, her grandsons, Joshua (Jodie) Garber and Andrew (Lindsay) Garber, four great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Adelyn, Liliana, and Andrew James. The funeral service celebrating Janies life will be 11AM Monday, May 6th at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 119 Laird Ave. NE in Warren with Pastor David R. Black and Pastor Jim Garber officiants; friends may call one hour prior to services (10-11AM) at the church. Interment in Crown Hill Burial Park.
