Jean Kathryn McCall There will be a memorial service, tentatively set for Sunday, May 15, 2016, for Jean Kathryn McCall, 92. Jean, formerly of Canfield, passed away Tuesday, March 1, at her residence, Briarfield at Ashley Circle, Austintown. Jean was born November 13, 1923, in Charleston, West Virginia, a daughter of the late George and Laura Keller West, and resided in Canfield most of her life. She graduated from Canfield High School in 1941 and worked in the Loan Department for the Farmer's National Bank of Canfield for over 20 years, retiring in 1985. Jean was a member of Canfield United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir with her husband of 57 years, Bales W. McCall. Jean had a group of high school lady friends with whom she did monthly card games, crafts and luncheons for decades. She enjoyed playing the piano, painting, loved to garden, tending to her flowers, dancing and watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She enjoyed taking car rides and looking for antiques. Jean was a kind woman who loved her church, her home and most of all her family. Besides her parents Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Bales, whom she married January 19, 1946, five brothers, Herman West, Don West, Bernard West, Kenneth West and Ferran West, and three sisters, Winona Morrow, Betty Blough and Doris Cannon. Jean leaves her children, Dr. Judith (Robert) Griss of Hudson, Dr. Lawrence (Diane) McCall of Canfield, Brian (Cheryl) McCall of Boardman and Nancy (Lawrence) Zunic of Canfield; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and, two brothers, George (Norma) West of Canfield and Keith (Bev) West of Oklahoma City. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel.
