Jean L. Pitts

Memorial services celebrating the life of Jean Pitts will be held at 11am Monday at the Ellsworth Community Church. Jean was born December 24, 1918 in Pittsburgh PA. the daughter of Harry S. Rhoads and Mary Irene Jahn Rhoads. Jean passed away at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland Thursday morning two weeks prior to her 100th birthday. She was a certified dental assistant for Dr. Shrum for 30 years before her retirement. She graduated from Boardman High School in 1935. Jean loved to spend time at Lake Erie during the summer where she enjoyed boating, she also enjoyed winters in Florida for many years and enjoyed golfing. For many years she was a member of the Tuesday Morning Card Club in Canfield. Jean will be missed by her daughter Sandy (Robert) Leach Lacivita from Cleveland, sister Sally Young from Ellsworth, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, son John Leach and brother Harry. Family and friends may call from 10am to 11am Monday at the church. The Pitts family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to the Ellsworth Community Church in Jeans memory.
