Jean L. Lealand

Jean Lynn Lealand, 67 of Austintown passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Select Specialty Hospital, Youngstown. Jean was born July 18, 1957 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Thomas James and Jean (Brown) Lealand, Sr. and was a lifelong area resident.

 Jean graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1975 and had been working as an auditor for Young and Associates in Kent. Previously Jean worked as an auditor for many years at the U. S. Bank. 

She was an avid bowler, belonging to various leagues over the years. She looked forward to monthly luncheons with her friends from high school and her cousins. 

Jean leaves her true love, Joe Leeson, whom she recently reunited. They were planning on retiring and traveling the country together. Jean leaves her nieces and nephews whom she was very close; Dorothy Wolz, Thomas J. Lealand, III, Heather Street, Mark Lealand, Brian Lealand and her great nieces and nephews, Austin Hall, Ashley Hall, Sara Lealand and Sean Lealand, and her beloved cat, Smoky. 

Besides her parents, Jean was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas James Lealand, Jr., two sisters, Laura Lealand Moore, Marilyn Lealand Hall; three nephews, David Hall, Jimmy Lealand, and Gary Hall. There will be a Celebration of Jean’s life at the Amvets Post #44 of Struthers beginning at noon on Saturday, November 23rd . followed by food and drinks.
