Jean R. Orin, 90 Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Dr., Boardman for Jean R. Orin, 90 of Marian Living Center, formerly of Boardman who died Thursday morning at Assumption Village. Jean was born May 26, 1926 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Andrew and Rose (Hnizdil) Trinka and was a lifelong area resident. Jean graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, June 6, 1944, D-Day and went to work in the main office of General Fireproofing until 1946. Jean later worked in the former catalogue department of Sears Department Store from 1964 until she retired in 1976. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church since 2001 and a former member of John Knox Presbyterian Church for 50 years, where she served as an elder and a deacon. Jean was a member of the Westminster Circle of Love and was involved with Christmas International where she housed international college students at Christmas through the Presbytery. She was also a member of the Sears Retiree Friendship Club, the Boardman Historical Society, and a member of the Christian Women South, where she was decorating chairman for 30 years. Her husband, William E. Orin, Jr. whom she married November 28, 1946, died June 30, 1985. She leaves her daughter Nancy (Chas) Madonio of Kent; two sons, David Orin of Massillon, Donald (Becky) Orin of Sugarland, Texas; 7 grandchildren, Erin (Joe) Latina, Patrick (Stephanie Beal) Madonio, Andrew (Laura Swinsburg) Madonio, Allison Orin, Adam Orin, Joshua (Hannah) Orin, Jacob Orin and two great grandsons, Alex and Nick Latina and a niece, Beth Egan. Besides her parents and her husband, Jean was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Anderson. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to Westminster Presyterian Church Memorial Fund or to the Madonio Family Animal Welfare Trust, c/o the Portage Foundation, 138 E. Main Street, Kent, OH 44240. The family would like to thank the staff at Marian Living Center for their compassionate care given to Jean.
