Jeanette R. Hubbard, 85 of North Jackson passed away early Wednesday morning, September 15th surrounded by her family. Jeanette, known as Jan, was born in Sandusky, Ohio on November 16, 1935, the daughter of Harold and Doris (Briggs) Russell. She and her husband of 60 years, Howard N. Hubbard Jr. were married on August 25, 1956 in Lorain, OH. In 1977 they moved with their four children to the Youngstown area. She always focused most of her efforts on her family, instilling a strong family dynamics that has fostered close family bonds. Outside of the family she was actively involved in volunteering within the community and in pursuit of her various passions. Through her love for quilting, she joined multiple quilt groups within the area, most notably TQGIBT (That Quilt Group I Belong To). She enjoyed spending hours in her home garden as well as volunteering at Mill Creek Park Fellowship Gardens, earning a Master Gardener certificate. For her love of animals she volunteered with Angels for Animals, and became a founding member of The Buckeye Horse Park. She also devoted much of her time volunteering with Hospice of the Valley and with the 103rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry Company in Sheffield Lake, Ohio. She was proceeded in death by her husband Howard on May 27, 2016, and her sister Tamara Fuller. She is survived by her four children, Matt (Therese) Hubbard of Indianapolis, IN., Ted (Wenman Li) Hubbard of Walnut Creek, CA., Andrew Hubbard of Columbus, OH., and Jennifer (William) Milliner of North Jackson, OH., eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and her brother Michael (Lois) Russell of Lillian, AL. Please join the family on Saturday, September 25, at the farm where she lived, for a service to laugh, reminisce, and celebrate her beautiful life starting at 2:30, with a service starting at 3:00. Immediately after, the family invites everyone to gather for food and to share stories. The family asks that everyone who attends please wear a mask to protect the safety of all.
