Jeanne Marie Staffrey

Services celebrating the life of Jeanne Staffrey will be held at 11:30 am Thursday at the Lane Family Funeral Home Austintown Chapel. Jeanne passed away Saturday evening at the Hospice House. Jeanne was born January 27, 1927 in Youngstown the daughter of Eugene and Mabel (Berndt) Kreitzburg. She was a member of Christ Church in Boardman. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years Dominic Staffrey whom she married April 1, 1944 and who died March 30. 2015. She and Dominic spent 40 years together in the Harness Racing Industry. Jeanne served over 30 years as an officer of the Canfield Harness Horsemen's Association, was once a Director of the Ohio Horseman Association and supported Dominic's POW status as Treasurer/Secretary of the POW'S for many years. Jeanne is survived by her siblings: Almagene (Bob) Brown, Edward (Millie) Kreitzburg, Raymond Kreitzburg, Charles (Sandy) Kreitzburg and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband and son Chris. Family and friends may call from 9:30 am until time of services at 11:30 am on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Brunstetter Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be made to Angels for Animals or Hospice of the Valley in Jeanne's name.
