Jearld Lloyd Pease, 84, of Howland, Ohio, passed away on January 22, 2025, at Hospice of the Valley following a long illness.
Born on November 24, 1940, in Warren, Ohio, Jerry was the son of Jesse and Roberta Pease. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1959, then served four years in the U.S. Navy. After his active-duty service, Jerry continued his commitment to the military by re-enlisting in the Reserves for two more years.
After his military service, Jerry worked at Copperweld and later at Packard Electric until his retirement. He was a dedicated family man who cherished time with his wife, Marilyn. Jerry was a familiar face at the Cortland Moose Lodge #1012, where he would meet friends for lunch and camaraderie, and he enjoyed spending time at the Hole in the Wall for a cold beer with his friends.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Roberta Pease; his son, Gerald “Scott” Pease (Vivian); and his stepdaughter, Kerry Hionas (Billy). He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Marilyn Derville Pease; brothers, Rodger “Bud” Pease (Janet) and Edward “Sonny” Pease (Janice); daughters, Jill Marie Pease Gross (Michael) and Darla Melissa Pease Rodgers (Jason); son, Christopher Pease; grandchildren, Taylor (Shannon) Pease, Brian Joseph (Marla) Pease, Ryan Pease, Jessica Gross, Jacob Gross, Richard Joseph Rodgers, Christopher Pease, Matthew Hinkle (Megan), and Tiffany Benamoz; great-grandchildren, Conner Pease, Grant Pease, Jack Pease, Brynn Pease, Noah Benamoz, Hope Benamoz, and Easton Hinkle; and stepchildren, Nicole Vardavas (Steve), David Parilla, and Kim Creamer (Tom).
A lover of the outdoors, Jerry enjoyed riding his Harley, golfing, grilling, and working on his hot rod. His interests and joyful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. In accordance with Jerry’s wishes, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cortland Moose Lodge #1012, 6400 State Rt 46, Cortland, Ohio, in his name.
Jerry lived life to the fullest, leaving a legacy of love and fond memories. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
