Jerome H. Banaszak

Jerome Banaszak, 75, formerly of Cortland, OH, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 in The Villages, Florida.

Born February 20, 1944, in the Pittsburgh area, Jerome was the son of the late Walter and Ann (Melnik) Banaszak.

Prior to retirement, Jerome was employed by Sharon Schools as a Teacher. He was also the Head Basketball Coach for Sharon High School and Niles High School. Jerome was an avid golfer and always enjoyed watching basketball and Steelers football, and playing cards with his close friends.

Jerome is survived by his wife Pamela, son Bart Banaszak of Howland; his step-sons Matthew (Jennifer) Dobransky of Twinsburg and Mark (Amy) Dobransky of Columbus; his brother Richard (Alberta) Banaszak of Pittsburgh; his granddaughters Alyssa and Kayla Dobransky; his first wife Shirley Banaszak (Weekly); and sixteen nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Jerome is preceded in death by his second wife, Treva Banaszak (Wagner) and his brother Walter Banaszak.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 15th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will immediately follow at 12:00 PM.
