Joan L. Minick, 96 of Niles, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord, Wednesday morning, January 1st at the Briarfield at Ashley Circle Nursing Center in Austintown.
She was born September 12, 1928 in Evansville, OH, a daughter of Godwin "Bud" and Celesta (Davis) Williams.
Joan was a 1946 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School and spent her adult life as a homemaker, raising and caring for her family.
She married Russell F. Minick on December 7, 1946. They shared 68 years of marriage and many happy memories together. He preceded her in death December 20, 2014.
Joan was a longtime member of the former Evansville Baptist Church in Mineral Ridge and had attended the Grace Fellowship Church for a time. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two children; Jullane (Robert) Williams, and Russell D. (Mary Ann) Minick, both of Mineral Ridge. She also leaves behind grandchildren; Vanessa (Joe) Warneke, Aleshia Beard, Amanda Minick, and Brian (Ann Lynn) Minick; and great grandchildren; Jessica (Josh) Mewhinney, Brooklyn Beard, and Grace, Jenna, and Rebecca Minick; and several special nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Joan was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Albernice Dunlap, and a great granddaughter, Addison Beard.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Wednesday, January 8th, at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel, 1350 N. Canfield-Niles Rd., Mineral Ridge, with Pastor Matthew Lowe officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to services from 11:00 AM to Noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
Joan will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in the Niles Union Cemetery.
