Joann R. Ryan

Warren – Joann R. Ryan, 89, passed away Friday afternoon, January 10, 2025 at Shephard of the Valley in Howland. 

Joann was born on October 24, 1935 in Warren, a daughter of the late Oscar and Caroline Rigel

She was a Warren G. Harding High School graduate and retired from Trumbull Lamp in Warren where she was employed for 30 years. 

She loved going to the movies every Sunday, having lunch dates with her children and friends, and traveling the United States with her family. She was a great cook and an avid book reader. She enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Joann will be deeply missed by her loving children, Lori (Wayne) McCabe of Leavittsburg, Leslie (Ferrell) Nottingham of Warren, Brenda Ulrich and Linda Ryan both of Howland; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, John Edward Ryan, whom she married on May 7, 1966 and who passed away on May 2, 2018; son, John Ryan Jr.; and sister, Dorothy (Clinton) Graff. 

A memorial service will take place on Tuesday January 21, 2025 at 12:00PM Lane Family Funeral Homes Roberts Clark Chapel, located at 180 Garfield Dr. NE in Warren. A private burial will take place at Pineview Memorial Park.
