Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday at St.Luke Episcopal Church in Niles for Jack Stephen of Salt-Springs road in Mineral Ridge who passed away on Saturday at Youngstown Specialty Hospital. Jack was born Nov. 11, 1918 in Youngstown, the son of Charles and Ethel (Mills) Stephen. A 1938 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School, Jack married Frances (Watkins) o February 6, 1943. Mr. Stephen was a WWII Navy veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre on the U.S.S. Wilkes-Barre. He was a member of the church, Sincerity lodge # 694 F & A.M., Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Youngstown, and the 55 Plus club od Mineral Ridge where he once served as president. He was also a member of the Mineral Ridge Volunteer Fire Dept. and served as the secretary of the firemans club. He was an avid reader and enjoyed woodworking, photography, and flower gardening. Jack worked for 26 years at Aetna Stadard engineering, a division of Blaw Knox, as a machinist and chief engineer. He retired from Wean United in 1980 as chief inspector and service technician travelling the world servicing equipment produced by Wean United. Mr. Stephen is survived by his wife and several nieces and nephews. A sister Lilian Nichols and a brother Ernest are deceased. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Church in Niles. Friends and family may call from 5-8 PM on Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel.
