John Camodeca, 94 There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel for John Camodeca, 94 of Mineral Ridge who died Thursday morning at his residence. John was born September 7, 1924 in Youngstown,a son of the late James and Margaret (Clement) Camodeca and was a lifelong area resident. He attended The Rayen High School and served his country in the United States Army, 5th Armored Division during World War II. John had served at the Battle of the Bulge and also during the D-Day invasion of Normandy in France at Omaha Beach. He received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. John was a driver/salesman for several soft drink companies including Canada Dry, Pepsi and RC Cola for 30 years before he retired. He had received the National Salesman of the year in the 1970s and also had received frequent "Driver of the Month" awards. John was a member of the Niles McKinley Masonic Lodge #794 F & AM and a skilled craftsman. He had built his own home and was always fixing something for someone and also enjoyed gardening. His wife, the former Carol Barnett, whom he married September 7, 1945, died June 26, 2013. He leaves his two sons, Ernest (Deborah) Camodeca of Ashtabula , John (Virginia Seefried) of Howland; four grandchildren, Melissa Rumple, Amy Camodeca, Jennifer (Charles) Doane, Brian (Janet) Camodeca; five great-grandchildren, Briana, Mackenzie, and Mikaya Siet and Charles and Maxwell Doane. Besides his parents and his wife, John was preceded in death by a daughter, Dee Camodeca; a brother, Neil Camodeca and a sister Rose Camodeca. Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 3:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to Animal Welfare League, 545 Brunstetter Rd. SW, Warren, OH 44481. ;
