AUSTINTOWN----Funeral services will be held 10 AM Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for John D. Zenchak, 87 of Austintown who passed away Monday morning in St. Elizabeth Health Care Center. John was born August 15, 1915 in Pittsburgh, the son of David and Marya (Dylinka) Zenczak. John had been employed as a roller for the US Steel Corp., McDonald Works 41 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the church and an Army veteran of WW II serving as an aircraft and engine mechanic in the Pacific Theatre. His wife, the former Josephine Grdenich, whom he married January 17, 1942, died May 2, 1998. John is survived by one daughter, Marilyn (David) Palisin of Rocky River, OH., a son, John (Kristi) Zenchak of Brookfield, IL., three sisters, Helen O’Connell of Niles, Bron Millik of McDonald, and Agnes Balintfi of Warren. John also leaves two granddaughters, Jessica and Erika Zenchak both of Brookfield, IL., his beloved niece, Jeanie (James) Jones of Ashland and his brother-in-law, Joseph Grenich of Boardman and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Walter, Peter, and Joseph Zenchak preceded him in death. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel. The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Building Fund.
