John E. Ryan

Warren- John E. Ryan, age 86, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland with his family by his side. John was born August 13, 1931 in Warren to the late William and Margaret (Blaser) Ryan. He was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. John retired in 1989 as a Foreman from GE Trumbull Lamp after 35 years of service. He enjoyed Golfing and loved watching professional golf on TV. In his later years, John relished crossword puzzles. He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, playing his guitar, and watching and feeding the wildlife in his backyard. John is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bob, and his sister Betty. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Joann Rigel, who he married May 7, 1966. His children, John (Deb) Ryan, Jr. of North Carolina, Brenda Ulrich and Linda Ryan of Howland, Lori (Wayne) McCabe of Niles, and Leslie (Ferrell) Nottingham of Warren; 17 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 5-6PM Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Dr. NE in Warren; A memorial service celebrating Johns life will begin at 6PM.
